Publisher: Hilger Editions
Edition: 30 + 5AP

Each book an unique edition.
Lithographic print and plexi glas in wooden coffer
30 cm x 40 cm x 25 cm

In this limited edition art book, Andrew M Mezvinsky unites the story of greek hero Icarus with the one of Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar.
Five lithographs, mounted on plexi glass, lead the viewer step by step into the literally multilayered complexity of this artwork.
The two heros have more in common than might be obvious on first sight.
Driven by their own arrogance, both attract the anger of the allmighties and fail, facing their own hubris.

In his opera ‚Nabucco’, Giuseppe Verdi draws parallels to the rise of Nebuchadnezzar with the ascent of an angel. But like the ancient hero Icarus, he has to fall first to become aware of his own finiteness.
